AJ Memorial Trail....waiting for the winds to Blow!

I took a trip down to the AJ MacEchern memorial park to see what I could come up with for pictures of the new wind turbine.  The Turbine was not in the best of positions to get the photo I had in mind, but I made the best of what I had to work with.  I managed to find a few other different takes on my walk in the park.  Also included here in this post is a photo of the Brant Rock fish market, which I needed for a gift.

Rexhame Beach Exploration

I was pretty bored this afternoon and decided to go check out a new location for some possible sunrise photos when the time is right!  I took a ride down to Rexhame beach and found a few takes that will be nice!  In the mean time I took a few today and here are some of the better ones!  A sunset would work nice here as well!

A Scituate Sunrise.......

A Scituate sunrise never gets old.  If someone were to ask me what makes a sunrise special, I'm sure I could rattle off a few things that come to mind.  I think the thing that gets me is that it's always different no two are ever alike.  Each sunrise is unique in its own way it which the light reflects on things before you and as I saw today behind you!

This morning was much cooler than it has been of late, not hat and glove weather but a chill was in the air for sure!  I started out at the Light and raced back and forth a few times between there and Museum beach for these photos.

Miont Beach

Finally this week with the nice weather I was able to drag myself out of bed to catch a sunrise!  Funny thing is I should really start getting up early because in a few weeks the fun and games of the golf course will start, and I will be up with the sun everyday.  I decided to take the new wide angle lens down to Minot beach and see what I could come up with.  I thought these two HDR photos worked out the best of the bunch!

Cape Cod Trip

Finally had the opportunity to take a trip to a new location!  My father and I got in the car and made our way down to Cape Cod!  Cape Cod has endless photo opportunity if you have the time and are willing to make the journey.  As is the case my favorite are the Light Houses.  The Cape is home to many.  Today I made my way to Falmouth for the Nobska Light.  From there we made our way to Chatham Light, I also captured a photo from the beach that I thought was cool!  It was nice to finally get out to a new location, the first of many I hope to get to as we head into spring and summer!

One last gasp of winter 2011-2012?

Well as I have said and many others as well if you don't like the weather in New England just give it a little time and it will change!  This proved to be the case these past few days, where we hit 68 one day last week, then this morning I awoke to heavy snow!  The snow this morning appeared to be a local event for Emass and parts of Cape Cod!  It did not last long but it snowed about as hard as you will ever see it for a short time!  The result was close to an inch, but now as i write this the sun has come out and it is gone!  Is this the last we see of snow till next winter??  I hope not but I can't argue either with that with temps in 60's.

Worm Moon!

The nearly full worm moon was on the rise at 5:15 Wednesday.  The sunset was not until 5:40, honestly if the moon would have held off until about 5:35 it would have been perfect but conditions were clear, the moon won't wait for anyone or anything, and it was still decent lighting for pictures!

I went ahead and bought a wide angle lens, a Tamron 10-24mm.  This lens will be nice for landscapes as well to put it simply you get a nice wider view of the scene.  I will point out the photos that I take with that lens, I hope to have that by Friday!

It seems like the winter is over well im not even sure you can call what we had the past few months a winter!  Either way it seems to be getting warm and this is exciting in the world of photography because it means the days are long and they will be getting warm, not that it has not been.  I have a few new places in mind first one day I want to head into Boston and see what I can gather up in there.  I'm trying to also figure a good spot maybe from Hull to get a picture of Boston Light, though they do boat tours in the summer maybe I will go on one!

Finally if you wonder where they get the names for all of the moons and the meaning check out this link http://www.farmersalmanac.com/full-moon-names/
