Memorial Day, Boston and summer!

Yesterday was Memorial Day and the weather could not have been any better.  All around the area people took time to remember the men and women who have given their lives for our nation.  The day started off with the parade right here in Scituate which started at the town hall and traveled down First Parish to the Common.  Below are a few of my captures from this event.

Following the activities in Scituate I took a trip into Boston with my father to check out the scene at the Boston Common with the 33,000 flags.  It was an overwhelming sight each flag has a story a person a life behind it.  The 33,000 represents each Mass soldier who has fallen since the Civil War.

There are so many great things in the city to take photos of you could spend the whole day, which again I plan to do very soon.  Located in next to the State House is the Massachusetts Fallen  Firefighters Memorial.  More information can be found at this link about the memorial http://www.mafirememorial.org/about/index.html

The memorial is a wonderfull tribute and if you are in Boston you should take a few minutes to check it out!

Memorial Day Weekend

I would like to wish you all a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend!  Enjoy time with family and friends.  I would also like to ask that you take some time to remember all the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice  for our country.  It is because of these brave men and women we are able to enjoy what we have today, Let us never forget this.  Here are a few photos I have gotten from around the area as we prepare to honor these brave men and women this weekend!

May Moves Along!

Again sorry for the sporadic posting but the schedule is very demanding these days and when I do have time to take pictures I don't have much time after to process etc....  May has gone by very fast IMO.  As the saying goes April Showers have indeed brought the May flowers and they help bring the area to life!  I Spring and Summer the most as I have found that the sunrises and sunsets seem like they offer up a little more color than those in the fall and winter.

I'm thinking about trying to do a little more Macro photography as I may have mentioned in one of my last post.  I think there are many opportunities with this type of photography this time of year, and I'm doing some research to see what I might need to make the images look there best!

Just to keep you updated Heritage Days is fast approaching, whether you want to believe it or not!  I have spent a good amount of time trying to hone in on what I will be offering as I want to get the printing process starting earlier this year, unlike last year where I did it all in two weeks not he best of ideas.  So as of now the lineup will be the same last year in terms of photos and sizes.  Aside from the photos I'm going to do the greeting cards/holiday cards just not sure on the details yet.  Poster size prints of 20x30 are a good possibility and finally the calendars if it all shakes out right.

Spring Has Sprung!

First I'm sorry again with the lack of posting here of late things have been non stop with this and that and everything in between!  When I have had time to get out to take pictures it has taken me a while to get back and process the photos so they are ready to post.  I have never tried Macro photography before but I had seen some work and it was starting to appeal to me so I figured why not!  This is a great time for Macro photography with all the flowers starting to come out.  This is far from perfect but it is different and I think I'm going to try and get a few more like this down the road.

The sky at the light house this past week one night was spectacular!  There was a passing shower but I knew as soon as the shower moved off shore the sky would really be dramatic and it did not disappoint.  There was actually a rainbow of sorts over the water but it was allmost like a pice of one rather that a whole I tried to get a picture but it did not really work out.
