Memorial Day, Boston and summer!

Yesterday was Memorial Day and the weather could not have been any better.  All around the area people took time to remember the men and women who have given their lives for our nation.  The day started off with the parade right here in Scituate which started at the town hall and traveled down First Parish to the Common.  Below are a few of my captures from this event.

Following the activities in Scituate I took a trip into Boston with my father to check out the scene at the Boston Common with the 33,000 flags.  It was an overwhelming sight each flag has a story a person a life behind it.  The 33,000 represents each Mass soldier who has fallen since the Civil War.

There are so many great things in the city to take photos of you could spend the whole day, which again I plan to do very soon.  Located in next to the State House is the Massachusetts Fallen  Firefighters Memorial.  More information can be found at this link about the memorial http://www.mafirememorial.org/about/index.html

The memorial is a wonderfull tribute and if you are in Boston you should take a few minutes to check it out!
