Hingham MA Fireworks

I have taken a few firework photos in the past but never anything to serious just messing around more or less.  This year I wanted to try and get some decent photos!  As always the best show around is hands down the one in Boston but the fact is that was more effort than I was willing to go through, between travel, crowds etc...  With that in mind I decided to take in the Hingham Fireworks which were last night and here are a few of the better ones!

Super Moon Success!

The Super Moon of 2013 worked out nicely!  I went right down the road to Minot Beach where an American Flag has been put on one of the rocks.  Thanks to my handy sun/moonrise app on my phone I was able to get myself in a good position to get the photo I was after.  This time of year brings a lot of haze and to say the least I was a little nervous but in the end the moon emerged and it was an amazing site as always!

Super Moon On The Loom

Greetings I had hopes of trying to build up another website for the summer season but it just has not happened!  With that in mind I have decided to start blogging on here again.  I still have my flickr page which I will continue to post my work on and each time I blog I will just post the link to that page with the photos from that day added to flickr!  Still feel free to swing here though to see what is on my mind, and to see what products I have for sale!  Again if you are interested in purchasing an item just email me with the product you are interested in with the photo number from flickr!  For example a 5x7 of Light #88.

I will be down at Heritage Days again this August.  Products will include 5x7, 8x10, 13x19 prints.  I will have a Scituate Light Calendar available for order, as well as a photo book capturing the great New England Blizzard of 2013.  In addition to these items I will be offering select canvas wraps in a variety of sizes!

Tonight brings the Super Moon of 2013 check back soon to see if it worked out!

Developing Brian Stewart Photography

First sorry for the lack of blog entries!  I have been out and about getting a lot of new takes over the past few months.  I was flattered with the positive response that I had leading up to the holiday season!  It is truly an honor to know that people admire my work.  With all this in mind I have been in the process of trying to develop a new user friendly website with galleries and much more.  I hope to have something up and running by the spring.  In the mean time you can go to the following flick link and view all of my latest and past work.  If you have any questions about anything please continue to feel free to contact me via e-mail:  stewie9279@gmail.com all of the sizes and prices of what I can make up can be found on the right hand side of this site!  If you would like to go ahead with an order please feel free to e-mail me at stewie9279@gmail.com and we can go from there.

Happy Holidays!

Here is to a happy holiday season to all my followers!  I hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving with family and friends!  I spent the holiday up in Hampton, NH.  In the summer time many flock to the sugar sand shores of the New Hampshire seacoast.  It had been a while since I had been up there and I had never been down to the beach looking for photos, but decided to check it out and was presented with a lot of good scenes!

We actually made it down there relatively late in the morning in the world of pictures 8:30AM, not exactly the golden hours for good photos IMO.  On this morning however the clouds hung tough and actually I was presented with what you look for when you chase these seascapes, some nice sun rays that were beaming through the puffy clouds!

Hurricane Sandy

 Sandy #1

Sandy #2

Harvest Moon

Hurricane Sandy blasted the region late this weekend into the start of the work week.  The storm formed in the Bahamas and began to make its move toward the United States.  Several of the weather models picked up on the idea of a MAJOR storm affecting the Northeast part of the country over a week out!  More often than not models tend to tickle the feet of weather weenies with a big fantasy storm that only slips off the model to be replaced by a frontal passage!  This time however the models seemed like the were converging on the idea of something truly special and possibly Historic in Nature!

A strong blocking weather pattern out over the North Atlantic was going to make this tropical cyclone do something many had not do turn back and move right toward the coast!  The storm ended up making landfall in SNJ where utter devastation from high winds and Major coastal flooding took place!  The storms impacts were felt up and down the coast, and in parts of West Virginia on the cold side of the storm the snow was measured in feet!!

We were very and I mean very lucky here in SNE we made it out easy so to say!  If that storm had tracked in across Long Island well that would have done to SNE what you saw unfold in NY and NJ.  It should be an interesting winter especially if we continue to see blocking set up!
